TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has instructed ministries to promptly address cooperative issues. During a Baluwatar discussion on Wednesday morning, he emphasized the need for short-term measures in managing cooperatives, suggesting that the Act should serve as a medium for instilling socialism and collective values for the benefit of the lower strata.

PM Prachanda directed ministries and agencies to undertake necessary preparations for both long-term and immediate measures to resolve cooperative issues. He proposed the creation of a dedicated regulatory agency to assess existing cooperatives and classify them as ‘Good, In Trouble, and Collapsed.’

Expressing concern for the fixed deposits of citizens, he called for effective coordination among the three tiers of government to secure these deposits. The meeting, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Ranjita Shrestha, Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal, and other officials, discussed the importance of protecting citizens’ financial interests.
